Blue Birds are very majestic, with their bright blue feathers and wonderful song they will definitely call attention to your yard. Most people attract these common song birds for their beauty and of course the added sound that makes your backyard a little more peaceful. Many birds such as the Bluebird have seen a drastic decline over the past decade. Some birds, such as the Northern Bobwhite, have had an 82% decline since the 1970′s. Bluebirds almost dropped off of the list in the 1970′s due to a lack of housing. Fortunately, lack of blue bird houses, was discovered as the cause and organizations started building homes for these beautiful birds.
All is not clear…
Just 40 years ago it was very common to see a bluebird and now it is something to talk about when it happens. When was the last time you saw one? Organizations are doing their part to protect them, but this just stabilizes the decline.
All is not lost…
